VA has developed newsletters, guides and other materials for Veterans, the public and health care providers about the health effects of Agent Orange exposure. In addition, at VA's request, the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine produces reports reviewing the research on Agent Orange.

The Veterans Health Initiative Vietnam Veterans and Agent Orange Exposure independent study guide was developed to provide a background for VA health care providers on the unique health issues and concerns of Veterans of the Vietnam War.

Reports - Vietnam Veterans and Agent Orange (Institute of Medicine Committee)
VA contracts with the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academy of Sciences, a non-governmental organization, to scientifically review evidence on the long-term health effects of Agent Orange and other herbicides on Vietnam Veterans. The IOM regularly updates its reports on Veterans and Agent Orange.
