VA offers several different benefits related to health effects of Gulf War service. Also, VA has developed materials to help educate Veterans and their families about health effects of Gulf War service.

Benefits for Health Effects of Gulf War Service

Gulf War Veterans may be eligible for three different VA benefits:

• Gulf War Registry health exam
• Disability compensation for illnesses related to Gulf War service
• Health care benefits

Surviving spouses, dependent children and dependent parents of Gulf War Veterans who died as the result of illnesses related to Gulf War service may be eligible for survivors' benefits.

Educational Materials

VA developed the Gulf War Review, a newsletter that provides information especially for Veterans who served in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. View the newsletter archive for the Gulf War Review.
