The Center for Quality Management in Public Health (CQMPH), based in the VA Palo Alto Health Care System has recently been given expanded responsibilities and a new name, the Population Health Group. The Population Health Group is the newest group within Public Health, a component of the VA Central Office in Washington, DC. The group continues to provide the services of CQMPH along with an expanded scope focusing on population health analysis, reporting and tools.
The CQMPH was first established with a primary focus on HIV care. CQMPH's mission was then expanded to include hepatitis C issues in January 2001. In line with the mission of its organizational parent, Public Health, the CQMPH mission was broadened to include work on issues and conditions with public health significance, including operational support and management of data from the Clinical Case Registries (CCR) software.
