William J. Culpepper II, Ph.D., M.A.
Dr. William Culpepper is an epidemiologist with over 20 years experience in varied research settings focusing on epidemiology and risk factors of chronic diseases; health services research; outcome measurement; scale development/ psychometrics; use of graphical information systems technology to model access to care; and telehealth. He has been continuously funded for 15 years and is widely published. Currently he is a reviewer for over 10 journals (e.g., Acta Neurologica Scandanavica, Neuroloy, Neuroepdemiology, American Journal of Epidemiology) and serves as a grant reviewer and board member for several professional organizations.
Dr. Culpepper joined Health Outcomes Military Exposures (formerly Post Deployment Health Services) as Deputy Director of the VA Epidemiology Program in June of 2018. Before coming to the Epidemiology Program, he was Associate Director for Epidemiology & Informatics in the Veterans Health Administration Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence. He recently published three papers on the U.S. national prevalence of multiple sclerosis, the first such work in over 30 years.
