VA offers several different benefits related to health effects of Gulf War service. Also, VA has developed materials to help educate Veterans and their families about health effects of Gulf War service.

Gulf War Veterans may be eligible for a variety of VA benefits, including a Gulf War Registry health exam, health care, and disability compensation for diseases related to military service. Their dependents and survivors also may be eligible for benefits.

Educational materials

VA publishes the Gulf War Review newsletters, providing information especially for Veterans who served in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. View Gulf War Review newsletters.

The Environmental Health Registry Programs for Veterans brochure (495 KB, PDF) provides an overview of five VA health registry programs that track the health of Veterans exposed to environmental hazards during military service: Ionizing Radiation, Agent Orange, Gulf War, Depleted Uranium, and Toxic Embedded Fragments.
